The litter robot is a popular self-cleaning litter box for cat owners. However, like any machinery, it can sometimes experience issues. One common problem is the pinch detect not working properly.
Came home to my Litter-Robot in the upside down position and the yellow flashing (2 flashes per second) and I cannot get the globe to turn at all to try to reset itself. Over the past week my litter robot has been indicating drawer full when it's not. I took the bonnet and globe off and cleaned off the drawer sensor with a qtip, put the unit back together, and now upon turning back on, the blue reset light blinks. I cleaned the contacts and still had pinch fault. The pinch wiring feeds to the dfi board so I replaced the dfi board and pinch alarm went away. I also had the red,yellow light. It turned out that I partially pulled out the dfi plug on main board when putting it back together. The plugs have to be seated till they lock in place.I concluded (before disassembly) that it was both the pinch sensor and the DFI assemble causing me trouble so in a Hail Mary I tried to fix both problems in one go.
